 Katsuhiko Sato - Paintings of tigers -

Katsuhiko Sato creates various arts such as Japanese calligraphy, pottery and paintings. He said he prays and works in order to live happy, joyful and appreciative life. His works are filled with such inspirations. He is truely free and do what he really likes. To be thankful for what happened in 2009 and to wish a happy 2010 for everybody who supports Ippodo, we joyfully presents Sato Katsuhiko's paintings. |

Born in then Manchuria , China . |
| 1947 |
Came back to Japan ( Okayama Prefecture ). |
| 1960 |
Hospitalized because of serious tuberculosis.
He was present at his friend's deathbed there.
At that time, he knew the feeling of “delight of living.” |
| 1963 |
Graduated from Tottori University , and became a teacher at a private elementary school in Nara .
As he teaches, he learned “creating” from the students.
He “resonated” with art works by Kazumasa Nakagawa and Shiro Tsujimura. |
| 1975 |
Started becoming popular and famous after he did 80,000 pieces of handdrawing for the quarterly magazine “Ginka,” published by Bunkashuppan-kyoku.
Since then he has vigorously drawn, made potteries, etc, and has held exhibitions all over Japan . |
| 2003 |
Drew for the poster of the 79 th Hakone National Intercollegiate Road Relay. |
