Ikuo Nakao Porcelains Exhibition

Ginza Ippodo Salon is pleased to announce an exhibition of porcelains by Ikuo Nakao.


Working on every process from choosing materials to paintings, Nakao produces beautiful porcelains with five-colored over glazed painting.

Based on the artist's own theme "Creation of distinguished new style by traditional method", tea ceremony tools (tea bowls, tea containers, and sweets containers), table wears, and "Pao Pao", lovely porcelain dolls, are to be presented at the exhibition.




Profile

1959 Born in Anjo-city, Aichi, Japan
1978 Graduated from Seto Pottery School

Studied about porcelains and multiple colored over glazed painting while worked as a potter
1986 Graduated from Kyoto College of Art and Design, course of Japanese style painting
1986 Got established as a potter and visited The National Palace Museum in Taipei for ten times and gainedinsight of Chinese art and culture
1994 Started to produce porcelain dolls "Pao Pao" with his own theme, "Creation of new porcelains out of tradition" .

Exhibits solo exhibitions every year with the artist's own annual themes.
